This class is designed for students with I.E.P.'s with needs in the area of organizational skills. This class meets first hour which is ideal to help students get ready for the day. This class focuses on the following skill areas:
- Time management
- Productive use of the student agenda
- Organizing materials by using
- Color coding
- Essential materials check lists
- Accordion folder
- Take home folder separating the homework with homework complete
- Study Skills
- Test taking strategies
- Peer tutoring
- Social Skills
- Note taking skills
SOCIAL SKILLS CLASS
This class meets during resource hour two to three times per week. A variety of strategies are taught with the primary focus on the SOAR theme (S=Self Control O=Optimism A=Awareness R=Respect). Other areas that are addressed and based on student needs:
- Bullying
- Teasing
- Anger Management
- Conflict Resolution
- Coping with Criticism
- Failure and Frustration
- Disrespect
- Problem Solving
- Anxiety
- Active Listening Skills
INTERVENTIONS MATH II
This class utilizes the TransMath materials to develop basic math skills in order to improve overall math performance in the general education math class by focusing on prerequisite needed for Algebra.Below are schedules for my 6th graders using the student numbers. The class has a link to each teacher's website and lists their direct line phone number. Parents and students are encouraged to use both the teacher's website and the parent portal to obtain information on homework assignments and due dates.
