My CID Math class is based on individualized instruction and skill acquisition for each student. Students work at their own pace and abilities in a small classroom setting.
Students are expected to bring their Agenda, a notebook, and a pencil to class. When using the computer lab, students are expected to engage in computer-based math activities for at least 25 minutes and are graded on their effort towards learning the skills facilitated by the teacher and individual skill acquisition.
Math Homework: Homework is only given if a student fails to participate in the daily math activities. However, parents/guardians are highly encouraged to entice their children to engage in 15-20 minutes of math activity at home or at your local library via one of the computer-based math links below. Your child has a username and password (which is also posted in their Agendas) to access the first two links listed below (IXL Daily Math Work & Study Island) from any computer.

My Skills classes cover a wide variety of topics and skill areas including: anger/stress mngmt; conflict resolution / problem-solving; social thinking & expected behaviors; working in a group; organization skills; social-communication & interpretting and expressing non-verbal communication skills; understanding emotions; learning strategies; self-monitoring skills; and individual IEP goals and objectives. Grades are based upon structured core organization and social skill opportunities, participation in classroom activities, and advancing towards personal goals set by the teacher.
